Looking for something to do in Weymouth this week? From theatre and live music to creative workshops, quizzes and community gatherings, there is plenty happening across Weymouth and Portland.

Here are some of the highlights taking place across the area over the coming days.


Theatre, Talks and Cultural Events

At Weymouth Pavilion, there is a packed programme this week including The Voice of Hind Rajab, a powerful cultural performance, and Exhibition on Screen: Turner & Constable, which explores the lives and work of two of Britain’s greatest painters.

Music fans can also enjoy Michael Starring Ben, celebrating the music of Michael Jackson, while football supporters have the chance to attend An Audience with Harry Redknapp, where the legendary manager shares stories from his career.


Creative Events and Workshops

Weymouth’s creative community is hosting a variety of relaxed and welcoming events.

You can join Cafe Ope at b-side for open creative conversation, or attend Speakeasy Spoken Word Night at Sticks and Bones to hear local poets and performers.

There are also regular hobby gatherings including Miniature Painting Club and Crochet Club for anyone looking to get creative.

Workshops this week include the Mother’s Day Bouquet Bar at Abbey Farm Flowers and the St Patrick’s Pot o’Gold Workshop at Sunnyside Studio.


Live Music and Nightlife

Live music is happening across Weymouth throughout the week.

Highlights include Groove Rush Live at The Kings Arms, Nu Call at The Tin Cat, and Electronique at Hardy’s Hophouse.

There are also several open mic nights and music sessions including Duke Box Open Mic at The Waterloo, Open Mic Night at The Duke of Cornwall, and performances from groups such as the Weymouth Ukuleleans.

There are also several community focused events taking place.

Join the Community Litter Pick starting at Willowbed Hall, or head out for the Weymouth Half Marathon, one of the town’s biggest sporting events.

At Nothe Fort, visitors can explore the Heartfelt Art Exhibition and take part in Cold War Bunker Talks and Tours.

Families can enjoy the Brambly Hedge Interactive Story Trail at Abbotsbury Swannery, while younger visitors might enjoy the Barbie Kids Brunch at The Upwey Wishing Well.


Sunday Sessions and Relaxation

Across Weymouth’s pubs and venues there are plenty of relaxed live music sessions and social gatherings.

These include Sunday Sessions and Lewis Snarey at The Chapelhay Tavern, Sunday Live Lounge Session with Rob Davis at The Belvedere, Sunday Jam at The Tin Cat, and Sunday Bingo at The John Gregory.

There are also performances from Karen Melanie Kay and Mental Marcus Karaoke at The Duke of Cornwall.

If you are looking for something active, you can try Underwater Hockey (Octopush) at Portland Community Venue, or unwind with Yin Yoga at Girl Viking Studio.
