There is a bit of everything unfolding this weekend. The kind where you could plan it, or just follow what sounds good as you go.

Friday leans into music and lively corners of town.
You have live sets dotted around. Fluke Live! at The Kings Arms, Jamie Pinnow at The Waterloo, and open mic at Dry Dock if you fancy something a bit more unpredictable.
There is karaoke at The Duke of Albany, and Finns hosting Knock ‘N’ Run if your evening tends to drift into something louder.

If you are after something different, the Superheroes Assemble Quiz Night at Royal Manor Theatre adds a bit of fun, while Tubular Bells at Weymouth Pavilion brings a more atmospheric start to the weekend.

Saturday spreads out in all directions.
There is strength and spectacle with Dorset Strongest 2026 at Osprey Leisure Centre, or something slower with open studios at St George’s Studios.
Live music picks up again across town, from tribute nights like A Vision of Elvis at Weymouth Pavilion to heavier sounds at The Black Dog and The Gloucester.

If candlelight and something a little calmer appeals, the Vivaldi and Mozart evening at Holy Trinity Church is there waiting.
Or, if you are feeling braver, the ghost hunt at Nothe Fort might take your evening in a different direction entirely.

Sunday settles into its usual rhythm.
There is football at Bob Lucas Stadium, bingo at The John Gregory, and a mix of easygoing sessions across pubs, including Chapelhay and The Kings Arms.
If you are after something more relaxed, Yin Yoga at Girl Viking Studio offers a quieter reset.

And running alongside it all, the Brambly Hedge Interactive Story Trail at Abbotsbury Swannery is already underway if you fancy getting out of town for a bit.

No single way to do this weekend, just plenty of small things happening at once.

Something good is happening.
