By the time Friday evening rolls in, the town starts to shift a little.
Doors open, amps warm up, and there’s that familiar sense you might end up somewhere you didn’t plan.
There’s a strong run of live music across the weekend, spread right across Weymouth and Portland.
Friday gets things started with a few solid options.
You’ll find The Presence at Hardy’s Hophouse, Balance of Power at The Tin Cat, and over at the Edinburgh House of Sounds, Ricky Solo bringing things in.
Saturday is where it really opens up.
The Edinburgh House of Sounds stays busy with Richard Cooper Acoustic and Stacey Lou, while across town there’s Revolution at The Kings Arms, Mojo Stone Cold Players at The Rock Hotel, and Lithium Classic Rock at Hardy’s Hophouse.
If you’re after something a bit heavier, Ironhide at Finns adds another option into the mix.
Sunday carries things through at a slightly easier pace.
Sunday Sessions at Chapelhay Tavern ease into DuKane, making it easy to settle in for a while. Elsewhere, there’s Karen Melanie Kay at The Duke of Cornwall, Aaron Carter at the Edinburgh House of Sounds, and Stompin’ Dave at The Royal Portland Arms to round things off.
What stands out this weekend is the spread.
Different venues, different sounds, and enough going on that you can move between a couple of places and still catch something new.
If you’re heading out, it’s worth keeping your plans loose.
You’ll probably hear something before you see it.
Something good is happening.
