The weekend is shaping up nicely again.
A few bigger moments, a lot of smaller ones, and plenty of ways to drift between them.

Here’s what’s happening Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd.

Friday starts things off with a real mix across town.
There’s Friday Night Karaoke at Sailors Return if you feel like easing in with something lively, alongside Balance of Power at The Tin Cat and The Presence at Hardy’s Hophouse for live music.

Elsewhere, things take a slightly different turn with the Spring Equinox at The Springhead, the London Mountain Film Festival at Osprey Leisure Centre, and a Pirate Themed Quiz at Preston Village Hall which should be as fun as it sounds.

You’ll also find the Starfish Enterprise Open Day running during the day if you’re curious to explore something new locally.

Saturday has that steady build where you can start slow and end up somewhere busier than expected.

During the day there’s the Inspired Writing Workshop at Preston Village Hall, the Repair Café at Southill Community Centre, and the Ingleside Residential Home Open Day. The Heartfelt Art Exhibition at Nothe Fort also opens, worth a wander if you’re near the harbour.

By evening, things shift up a gear. There’s the Secret Supper Club at The Upwey Wishing Well if you’ve booked ahead, and plenty of music across venues with Revolution at The Kings Arms, Mojo Stone Cold Players at The Rock Hotel, Lithium Classic Rock at Hardy’s Hophouse, and Party in the Pub at The Gloucester.

Sunday feels like a choose your own pace kind of day.

You could start gently with Yin Yoga at Girl Viking Studio or try something a bit different with Underwater Hockey at Portland Community Venue.

There are creative options like the Bow Decorating Workshop at Sunnyside Studio, and if you’re heading out later you’ll find music dotted around again with Sunday Sessions and DuKane at Chapelhay Tavern, Karen Melanie Kay at The Duke of Cornwall, and Stompin’ Dave at The Royal Portland Arms.
If the weekend’s taken its toll slightly, Mental Marcus Karaoke is still there for one last go.

And running alongside it all, the Brambly Hedge Interactive Story Trail at Abbotsbury Swannery continues if you feel like stepping out of town for a bit.

You could plan it carefully, or just follow whatever sounds good at the time.

Something good is happening.
