Smallmouth Bay is an attractive small beach at Ferrybridge just off the main road to Portland.

You’ll get great views of shipping in Portland Harbour from here as well as the very colourful sight of kite surfers and windsurfers on all but the calmest days.

A quiet and relaxing beach with no formal facilities it’s popular as a stop of point for those walking The Rodwell Trail which runs alongside the beach.

If you choose to drive to Smallmouth Bay the main Chesil Beach car park is 5 to 10 minutes walk away. Free roadside parking can also be found in some of the residential streets nearby but it’s very limited.

Dogs are allowed on the beach.
