Music, Quizzes, Craft Nights and Community Spaces

Some weeks feel especially busy in Weymouth and Portland. Not in a loud or overwhelming way. Just that steady feeling that there is always somewhere to go, someone putting something on, or a reason to leave the house for a couple of hours.

This coming week is one of those weeks.

There are coffee mornings in Charlestown, quiz teams gathering around tables at The Tin Cat and Wyke Workies, open mic nights at The Waterloo and Dry Dock, and live music spread across pubs, cafés and venues throughout the town.

At Weymouth Pavilion alone, there is everything from California Schemin’ and Glenrothan to a 40th anniversary screening of Top Gun and live tribute music later in the week.

Community events continue quietly in the background too. A CPR and Defibrillator session at Charlestown Victory Hall could genuinely help save a life one day. Sticks and Bones is hosting both a Miniature Painting Club and a Spoken Word Night. There is a Death Café on Portland, yoga sessions, gaming nights and craft groups meeting across the area.

Some people will head out for a big evening. Others might just want a cup of tea, a quiz sheet and a change of scenery after work.

That mix is what makes Weymouth and Portland feel alive.

WeyPort What/When was created to make these events easier to find and easier to share. The site is completely free to use, both for organisers uploading events and for people looking for something to do locally.

Because when all these things are happening at once, it is easy to miss them.

And there really is a bit of everything happening this week.
